When Apple released the iPhone, they dubbed it the "best iPod we've made". Since pedestrian iPods can play games, is it just a matter of time before we see games available for the iPhone? A few iTunes localization strings say yes.

When Apple released the iPhone, they dubbed it the "best iPod we've made". Since pedestrian iPods can play games, is it just a matter of time before we see games available for the iPhone? A few iTunes localization strings say yes.

Given the change in interface from clickwheel to touchscreen, the current crop of iPod game would need some recoding for the iPhone interface. There was some buzz months back that Apple might be in discussions with games developer Electronic Arts to produce games for the iPhone. Count me as surprised if Apple doesn't add games to the repertoire of the iPhone.
