No real surprise, but Piper Jaffry has the numbers to back it up. According to their survey, 25% of high school students in the United States would pay $500 for the iPhone.
The research company surveyed about 500 high school students at 11 different institutions and found that 85 percent had heard of the iPhone.
"Among high school students, it is clear that Apple is successfully carrying its brand from the media player market into the mobile phone space," Gene Munster, a senior analyst at PiperJaffray, said in a statement. "We expect increasingly widespread adoption of the iPhone in more price-sensitive markets after the price gradually comes down."
No word on how many students want their parents to pay for their iPhone, but it's a safe bet it's a much higher number.
