Swisscom Confirms 3G iPhoneBy: Michael FerreryaMay 14, 2008
Yesterday, rumors were spreading about Swisscom carrying the next generation iPhone. Swisscom confirmed their intention to release the 3G iPhone this summer, but did not comment on the specifications cited in Swiss newspaper Le Matin. With the 3G iPhone headed to the US, the specifications look very impressive.
Le Matin reported the 3G iPhone specs will include 2-way video chats, mobile TV and GPS navigation. This will all be powered by a more robust processor. 3G is a known battery killer, so it'll be interesting to see battery life for the new second generation iPhone. A recent report had an option to turn off 3G in iPhone software 2.0. This makes plenty of sense and probably an easy way to increase battery life. Source: EngadgetMobile
