Rogers Changing Wireless Plans Ahead of iPhone Release

Speaking at the Canadian Telecom Summin on Monday, Rogers President Nadir Mohammed indicated the company will be changing their cellphone plans within the next two weeks. Rogers will be the first carrier in Canada to carry the iPhone 3G and the introduction of more data heavy devices is causing the carrier to rethink their pricing structure and plans.

Speaking at the Canadian Telecom Summin on Monday, Rogers President Nadir Mohammed indicated the company will be changing their cellphone plans within the next two weeks. Rogers will be the first carrier in Canada to carry the iPhone 3G and the introduction of more data heavy devices is causing the carrier to rethink their pricing structure and plans.

"There's a recognition on the part of Rogers that the world has changed," Mr. Mohamed said. "We'll be changing our prices to reflect that."

Rogers is expected to also announce the BlackBerry Bold, also a data intensive 3G smartphone.
