Mossberg Says 60 Days Until Next Generation iPhoneBy: Christopher MeinckApril 7, 2008
At a technology summit, Wall Street Journal's Walt Mossberg spoke about the upcoming iPhone, saying "the iPhone will be 3G in sixty days". This just adds to rampant speculation that Apple will indeed release the next generation iPhone at their World Wide Developers Conference in June. Evidence of a 3G iPhone continues to build, most recently with AT&T Mobility CEO saying the 3G iPhone release was just "months away". It's still unclear as to what changes we'll see with the new iPhone, outside of support for 3G networks allowing for faster data connections. 3G phones are predominant in Europe, so T-Mobile's recent iPhone price cut to €99 ($155 US) also lends to the credibility of the rumored June release. To boot, there have been reports of iPhone shortages, so it's quite possible that Apple is looking to clear out inventory in preparation for the next generation iPhone.
