When Apple announced the iPhone 3G last month, early adopters flocked to eBay to sell their first gen iPhones in anticipation of the iPhone 3G. With iPhone 3G shortages abound, the market for first generation iPhones has been heating up.

Used iPhones being advertised as "slightly used" are fetching upwards of $520. That's just $80 less than the June 07' launch price of $599. In addition, early adopters were also given a $100 rebate. For some, they've used their iPhone for over a year and turned a profit. It's not often that you can do that with technology. Before you head off to sell your first generation iPhone, you might want to secure an iPhone 3G, as stock continues to be limited throughout the country. Also, don't forget these useful tips on how to successfully sell your used iPhone on eBay. As of today, there were over 900 auctions were running for the 8GB iPhone.
