Analyst said Monday that Broadcom would likely be making chips for an Apple cellphone set to released in early 2007.
Investors latched onto the news and sent Broadcom shares up on Monday. Shares in Apple rose Tuesday on speculation they would formally announce the release of the iPhone in early 2007. Broadcom manufactures chips found in the newly released Nintendo Wii.
