Apple Memo Leaves Many iPhone 3G FAQs Unanswered

According to AppleInsider, Apple is circulating an internal iPhone 3G Frequently Asked Questions document to help aid sales personnel that are undoubtedly getting bombarded with questions regarding the July 11th release. The memo does little in the way of actually answering the questions, but rather provides staffers with appropriate answers. We are unable to check the validity of the memo, but feel free to try out any of the questions at your favorite Apple Store.

According to AppleInsider, Apple is circulating an internal iPhone 3G Frequently Asked Questions document to help aid sales personnel that are undoubtedly getting bombarded with questions regarding the July 11th release. The memo does little in the way of actually answering the questions, but rather provides staffers with appropriate answers.

We've paraphrased the questions, so that it's easier to find out the information you need for the July 11th release. Of course, look for more information from Apple and AT&T as we get closer to the release. Unfortunately for most, a number of questions surrounding the release are still left unanswered.

Can you place an iPhone 3G on hold?

Answer: You may not place iPhone 3G on hold for anyone. No exceptions. Do not create a waitlist. It is critical that all stores follow the same process to ensure every customer has an equal and fair opportunity to purchase a phone.

Will Personal Shopping Sessions apply to the iPhone 3G?

Answer: Call any customer who has reserved an iPhone Personal Shopping session on or after July 11th and inform them that Personal Shopping sessions won't apply to the iPhone 3G.

I just bought a first generation iPhone. Will I be able to upgrade to an iPhone 3G at a discounted price or exchange it for an iPhone 3G?
