Apple Introduces iPhone 3G Priced at $199

Apple today introduced the new iPhone 3G, set for a July 11th release starting at $199.

The iPhone 3G will come in both 8GB and 16GB models. The 16GB iPhone 3G will be available in either black or white, with the 8GB model coming in black only. The 8GB iPhone 3G is priced at just $199 (with contract) and the 16GB iPhone 3G is $299.

iPhone 3G boasts impressive download speeds over the first generation iPhone. Talk time is 5 hours, which compares favorably to comparable 3G phones. The current iPhone features up to 10 hours talk time. In addition, iPhone 3G features GPS allowing you to "track" a route. It does not include real-time navigation.

The iPhone 3G will be available at Apple Retail Stores and AT&T Stores starting July 11th.
