The iPhone goes on sale today at AT&T stores in Alaska and stores are bracing for a rush of customers.

The iPhone was not previously available in Alaska. AT&T completed a deal to aquire Alaska telecommunications company Cellular One, paving the way for the iPhone release. The iPhone was launched in other states in the US on June 29th to crowds, with many camping out for the much anticipated iPhone. Managers at the stores are anticipating extra crowds and have hired additional staff.
