The quality of games for the iPhone is continuously improving and it's only been 6 months since they took the wraps of the App Store. One of my issues and probably quite a few gamers has been the lack of physical buttons. Sure we've got accelerometer support, but touching the screen pales in comparison to good old fashioned hard buttons. A third party manufacturer is making strides towards producing what they call the iControlPad. Unfortunately, this will not be an Apple supported accessory, so there will be limits to it's usefulness. If Apple has clear intentions of making the iPhone and iPod touch a gaming console, why not an officially supported accessory? While we don't expect any drastic changes to the iPhone platform next month (despite rumors of an iPhone nano) at MacWorld, count me among those who would welcome a gaming accessory. Then we can officially start talking about the iPhone as a competitor to the Sony PSP. via Engadget
