Steve Jobs To Keynote WWDC on June 9th

By: Michael Ferrerya
May 13, 2008

Apple announced today that a team of Apple executives led by CEO Steve Jobs will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address.

This year's keynote will focus on two platforms, Mac OS X and Mac OS X iPhone. Apple will release iPhone firmware update 2.0 in the coming weeks with the first official support for third party applications. iPhone owners who wished to utilize third party applications have had to jailbreak their iPhone. This can sometimes cause problems when Apple releases maintence updates. Third party applications will be distributed through the iTunes store primarily on your iPhone. The AppStore as it's being dubbed will accessible via an icon on your iPhone and will be included in version 2.0. No release date has been set for iPhone firmware update 2.0, but many expect WWDC would represent an ideal time for the launch.
