According to the San Jose Mercury News, Apple must respond to the trademark lawsuit filed by Cisco in January over the "iPhone" trademark.
Apple could ask for an extension and it is likely Cisco would agree. An Apple spokesperson confirmed that the two companies are talking "with the aim of reaching agreement on trademark rights and interoperability." Cisco spokesman John Noh said Wednesday, "We still fully hope to resolve this issue amicably and that's what the two companies are currently working on -- a mutually beneficial agreement".
