The "cover-flow" theme suggests the announcement will bring the release of a new iPod. The invitation proclaims, "The beat goes on." Given the tremendous interest in the iPod product line, the event is taking place at the Moscone Center allowing for larger capacity crowds which are anticipated. The event is open to the media only and by invite only. According to a rumor being reported by MacDailyNews, Apple might also use the event to debut a wireless iTunes Store allowing the iPhone and new iPods to wirelessly download digital content.
