Apple Earnings Report Shows 34 Percent Revenue Growth

Apple released their financial results for the 2006 quarter. Revenues were up 34 percent as sales of the iPod topped 8.5 million.

Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2006 second quarter ended April 1, 2006. The Company posted revenue of $4.36 billion and a net quarterly profit of $410 million, or $.47 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $3.24 billion and a net profit of $290 million, or $.34 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 29.8 percent, equivalent to the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 43 percent of the quarter
