We are all sitting and waiting with bated breath for the official announcement of the iPhone — and more and more evidence seems to suggest that September will be the month to watch, specifically September 12 for announcement, and September 21 for launch.
Firstly, BGR has been talking to some sources at AT&T, and they say that the new iPhone will launch in third or fourth week of September, with all hands on deck to help in stores until mid-October.
iMore is being far more specific, claiming that a reliable source has told them that Apple will make the announcement of the device on September 12, and that 9 days later it’ll be released in the USA: September 21.
Apparently October 5 will be when the second round of the phone heads out, probably to international markets.
These dates match many previous rumors, and have been widely discussed — both of these reports seem to add more fuel to the fire. Those dates would mean Apple will announce the device on a Wednesday, open pre-orders the same day, and they’ll head out the next Friday.

Wasn’t the iphone 4s announced last year, 2 days before pre-orders though? That would peg the 14th as the date for pre-orders, not that it really makes a difference.
