The implementation of multi-tasking in webOS is fabulous. The closest thing in iOS is switching between open web pages in Safari. iOS 5 won’t offer any significant improvements in how iOS handles multi-tasking. A new app titled CardSwitcher, aims to change how iOS handles multitasking and looks to offer a similar experience to how it’s handled in webOS. Users can initiate a card view and then move between those cards to access a particular app.

The developer promises it will be available in the CydiaStore shortly for $1.99. Of course, it requires that you’re iPhone is jailbroken.

Hasn’t MultiFlow been offering card style multitasking for a few months now? At first it was Expose-style only, but added the cards a few months back…I like having options.

Haven’t seen that, but will look for it and check it out.

Only drawback…Multifl0w is $4.99. Had CardSwitcher been around first, I would have gone the cheaper route. Also noteworthy: R.Petrich has an iOS4 compatible rewrite of ProSwitcher called LameSwitcher (nice) up on his beta repo…should be interesting.

    It’s available on Cydia now….
