I think that calls for an “OH SNAP!”, with Apple then responding, “SO’S YOUR FACE!” Microsoft’s chief operating officer Kevin Turner was talking at the Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in DC today, when he said:
“It looks like the iPhone 4 might be their Vista, and I’m okay with that.”
Dude, harsh. Vista was a nigh-on unusable steaming pile of crap, that constantly bugged you to reboot, and odd permission requirements. The iPhone 4 has some reception issues (and proximity ones), but it’s still the best freaking thing on the block.
Earlier in the speech Turner made another crack, saying, “one of the things I want to make sure you know today is that you’re going to be able to use a Windows Phone 7 and not have to worry about how you’re holding it to make a phone call.” Okay, Apple kinda deserved that one.

As far as being “unwarranted”, I’d definitely have to disagree. Not everyone is having reception issues (I’m one of the fortunate ones), but the peoe who are having problems seem to have a very valid beef. The proximity thing is also a valid problem. I don’t like to use the “shoulder hold”, but I occasionally have to. Putting people on mute, dialing numbers in their ears, and hanging up on them are all routine events with the “shoulder hold”. I never had problems with iphone 1 or 2 doing that.
Anyway, it’s good to see some humor come out of a MS exec.
Funny and it should be expected for rival companies to try to exploit an issue with their competition. I’m on my third iPhone 4 and I hope they give us some good information that shows they value the customer on Friday.
Oh, and if Turner’s suit and tie are any indication, they need to give the poor dude a raise!

What I find most amusing here is that he is essentially referring to M$’s very own operating system as a POS. If you’re going to poke fun at someone, it’s normally best not to poke fun at yourself while you do it. LOL Somehow I am reminded of Happy Gilmore: “I eat pieces of sh*t like you for breakfast” re-”you eat pieces of sh*t for breakfast???”.

Yeah I thought it was a well placed low blow by Microsoft to it’s competitor. Microsoft came back strong with Windows 7, lets see how Apple bounces back from all the iPhone 4 issues. I think they’ll come back strong, but they have to do something about this antenna flaw, they can’t continue to ignore it. Can they?

Lol I just heard microshaft pulled the plug on the Kin phone over the weekend, it was on the news. I say oh’Snap at least people want the iphone4! Lol! They pulled the plug after 48 days because they didn’t sell one phone!
It really sucks to be on top because all your competitors are eager for you to make a mistake. I am very fortunate not to have any issues whatsoever with my IP4.
It is very amusing to see a MS Exec (with terrible taste in color coordination) poke fun at a product that they are 3 years behind on. Their stock price also speaks volumes about their company. STAGNANT!!!!
best thing on the block??? lmao no. everyone knows HTC makes junk, and even they superglued a better device together. former iphone, iphone 3g, and iphone 3gs owner. they are not good devices, they’re just way out in front in terms of app development.

Nick I’ve had the HD2, Evo, My Touch, and G1, they all such compared to the iPhone. As a matter of fact the specs on the iPhone is better than any HTC phone that came out around the same time as the iPhone. While people brag about the Evo the camera sucks, screen is horrible and it is slower than the Ip4 and records at a lower fps. Vista is, was and always will be a piece of crap there was no fix for Vista. Buying a case or giving them for free would fix this issue. I say Apple should give customers free bumpers or include them in the box. I remember when phone companies use to give case in the box, now they charge us to get one. Corporate America is a rip off.
ok i have owned every iphone since it was made. but HTC isnt that bad. its not that great but its still not terrible. i love the iphone but it does have some major issues to address. and i love how some fanboys are so quick to get so defensive on what is practically just jokes. windows 7 isnt bad, and for those who said they’re late, so was basic features like copy/paste, picture messaging, and even sharing contacts all on the iphone. so i dont think us iphone owners have a right to determine who is late and for what party. because iphone was behind (and still is for some features) for a lot of things. if you look at the specs of an iphone against the other major smart phones (droid, nexus one, evo, etc.) iphone 4′s specs are barely even with some. so really iphone 4 on paper isnt better. im not hating because to my iphone 4 is the best for my personal taste but im just saying we need to relax, and apple isnt god so dont put them on a pedestal.
