We’ve already heard rumors that Apple might be working on a smaller second iteration of the iPad, perhaps with a Retina Display, and now it looks like it might be set for a Christmas launch.
Taiwanese newspaper Economic Daily News, a Chinese language economics paper, is reporting that Apple is indeed working on another, smaller iPad. They say that it will have the same IPS LCD screen of the original iPad, only in a 7-inch form factor, sourced through Chimei Innolux.
The Economic Daily News apparently were one of the first identifiers that Apple was definitively working on a tablet computer, giving their views some credence. I wouldn’t count on the new iPad Mini being ready for Christmas.
