Mexican Carrier Says iPhone 4 Hardware Fix For End Of September

CanalMX is reporting that an executive for Mexican iPhone carrier Telcel claims a hardware fix for the beleaguered iPhone 4 and its antennae is on the way, and will be out by the end of September.

Mexico only just started selling the iPhone 4. Marco Quatorze, Telcel’s Director of Value Added Services, said that the standard iPhone 4 will be on sale until the case program runs out at the end of September, at which point a new hardware revision, without the antennae attenuation problem, will start being sold instead.

We’ve not heard this rumor from any other locations or sources yet, so I’m having trouble with this being legit. If this were going to happen just a month from now, I’m sure we would have gotten wind of it. I’m not buying it.

I heard the Mexican version will be powered by re-fried beans as a alternative to the battery. This is a joke!

Lol funny stuff! I will be exchanging my 32gig if this turns out to be true! I’m sure Apple knows this and won’t do a new rev, it would cost them billions with all the exchanges!

Or do a new US revision and sell all of the exchanges to Mexicans at a premium price! Lol I’m joking. Sorry if I’ve offended anyone!

  6. North says:

If this were true it would be interesting to see the exchange % stats from Apple. They already claim only 1/2 of a percent of iPhone 4 CS calls are about the antenna problem.
