MapsOpener Jailbreak Tweak Makes Maps Links Open in Google Maps

Okay, so we’ve figured out how to make Siri route you with Google Maps, but what if you want to intercept address links to that they go directly to Google Maps instead of Apple’s Maps? It turns out there’s a jailbreak tweak just for that. MapsOpener is available for free on Cydia’s BigBoss repo, and will send those links where you want them to go.

As demoed by iDownloadBlog above, MapsOpener means that any address links you see in Safari will link out to Google Maps, instead of hitting Apple Maps.

As of right now, the tweak doesn’t unfortunately parse links from your phone’s Contacts, but apparently a fix for that is in the works.

If you’re one of those people who really despises Apple Maps, this should at least go part of the way to making you happier about how your iPhone runs.
