Lima Is Like Cydia From Your Browser

A bunch of jailbreak types called the Infini Dev Team are working on crafting an alternative jailbroken app store for iOS — one that’s run through your browser instead of an app. Called Lima, here’s how they describe it:

Lima is going to be a browser-based dpkg Installer. Meaning all you have to do is visit a website in safari and you have a fully fucntional package installer!

So you just jump on their website and hit the install button, and your friendly jailbroken app pops up on your homescreen. It’s an elegant alternative to Cydia, but also one that might not be too stable. Websites for gray market concepts like jailbreaking have a remarkable tendency to run out of funds, get pulled by hosts, fall to internal strife, or otherwise dissolve.

  1. So – this doesn’t do the jailbreaking – just another place to get apps/etc.. from – right?
