Lego Mindstorms are the sort of thing that when you were 8-years old, you thought you’d buy as a grownup. Now, as a grownup, you think “$350? That’s a hell of a lot of money for Lego!” Nevertheless, Lego continues to make the robotics sets, and the upcoming Lego Mindstorms EV3 will come bundled with iOS and Android support.
As spotted by Engadget, Mindstorms EV3 runs a miniature Linux box with built-in support for iOS, as well as an SD slot for local storage, and an IR sensor. It’ll also feature modules for teaching younger users basic programming, and more advanced features for those who already know what they’re doing.
I’m looking forward to the wonderful and bizarre projects that people make with this thing. A beer fetching robot sounds pretty good to me.
