French site nowhereelse.fr have obtained a few small pieces of what’s rumored to be the new iPhone. In addition to new home buttons, they also have the new SIM tray, and it looks like Apple has managed to shrink this down even further. Looking to save every millimeter possible, this appears to be a nano-SIM, where the previous iteration of the iPhone used the micro-SIM, itself even smaller than a standard SIM card.
There have been indications for some time that Apple is interested in the nano-SIM form factor, perhaps most telling is Apple’s involvement in the proposal of the nano-SIM standard to begin with.
