At the Sundance Festival this week, the Steve Jobs biopic jOBS is set to debut, starring Ashton Kutcher as an uncanny ringer for the Apple CEO. According to the Hollywood Reporter, we now have a firm date for when the film will launch nationwide, and it’ll be hitting theaters around the country on April 19. The significance of the date? That’s the 37th anniversary of the founding of Apple computers.

The festival debut of the movie is set to happen on the 25th of January, showing on closing night at the Sundance Film festival.

There’s no word on how wide the release will be — I imagine that hinges a lot on how well the film goes down at Sundance. Maybe people will love it, or maybe it’ll be the laughing stock, and only pop up at a handful of art cinemas.

UPDATE: Here’s the first video we’ve seen of the actors doing their thing. I’ve got to say, while Kutcher nails the look, he doesn’t sound an awful lot like Jobs.
