Showing that you don’t need to have an ugly case in order to add extra functionality to your iPhone, Japanese users are now able to add e-wallet functionality to their iPhone, merely by slapping a sticker on it. The stickers will cost $35 through Softbank, and take up most of the rear of the phone — but can go over other cases.
Once the user has added money to the stickers, they can tap their phone to readers to pay for goods and services — a method that’s surprisingly common in Japan. This functionality is heavily rumored to come to the next iteration of the iPhone in the form of NFC.
