Jailbreak Your iOS Device Using Safari Mobile

For the iPhone 4, 3GS, or 3G, running iOS 4.x, and iPad using iOS 3.2.1, comes the ability to jailbreak your phone simply by navigating to a webpage. Meet Jailbreakme.com, made by Comex, and the usual crew of miscreants. All you have to do is visit the website from your iOS device, and you’re away laughing. If you visit it from a computer, the website answers some questions, and makes sure to tell you that the process is legal under the recent DMCA update.

9 to 5 Mac has a video of the process, and on the iPhone 4, it took less than a minute, start to finish.

There are some reports that Facetime, MMS, and wireless data might be a bit buggy, but others say it functions fine after a reboot. As always, you do this at your own risk.

Here’s a full list of devices supported:

    Doit at your own risk.

    Why u may ask?

    No face time
    No mms
Sometimes it tryies to forward your calls

It’s like they using a 3G firmware and modded to work on ip4.

Just tried this. Super fail. MMS…gone. FaceTime…gone. Grrrr, It did feel good to be JB’d for 5 minutes, though. I’m in the process of restoring now.

    • jm821 says

Super fail on your part Mike. You only spent 5 mins, thats just being lazy. If you have been following comex’s tweets from him and other users, there is a slight bug with Facetime and MMS.

The only solution right now for iPhone 4 users that are missing FaceTime and MMS is to restore from a back up after you jailbreak your device and FaceTime and MMS will reappear and you will still retain your jailbreak.

Comex finally reproduced this bug and is working on a solution. Remember, this is the world of Jailbreak. Errors do occur at times and don’t expect everything to work right outta the gate upon immediate release.

I had posted this before I started really readin into it. I have it working and it works great. :D. I DO fail, haha.

it does work , you can try one of this 2 things

1- restore to a clean install and re-jb
    2- restore from a backup

see if that works, it did for me and i got it all back and everything its fine and dandy

Oops… I slid the bar on my iPad. How can I tell if I’m jailbroken? What can I do now? I actually didn’t mean to do this right now.

  5. Rowan says

EVERYONE IMPORTANT!!!!!!! You do not have to reboot after jailbreak. It will make you lose mms and FaceTime but all you need to do is add this as a source iphonedelivery.advinux.com no spaces and it will reboot then make sure you go to settings and turn back on FaceTime from the phone menu. Trust me I was mad as well but this solves all problems. One more thing after adding the source install the file to your phone. It is in French but it works.

  6. Rowan says

***Update. Not everyone is affected after jailbreak by losing mms and FaceTime, but if you are the above post will help you to get it back. After install check text message screen to see if you still have the mms icon.

So I just did the upgrade from a spirit jailbroken 3.1.3 on my 3Gs to iOS 4.0.1. I did a restore and am trying to access the jailbreakme site but I can’t get safari or Opera mini to connect to the outside world. I get a server time out error. I’ve tried both 3G and WiFi. What am I missing here? Oh and it’s never been unlocked.

    • firefighterjmar says

When I upgraded to ios 4.0 on my 3GS, it completely took out my Internet. I went to the apple store and they couldn’t fix it either. They said the upgrade messed up the network settings somehow so they just gave me a brand new one. The same thing might have happened to you. Try going to your local apple store.

      • Exodus says

when I upgraded my 3GS to ios4 I lost all data as well. I was told not to restore from the old back, but rather restart as new phone and it worked fine. I did lose all my apps and such, but managed to save my camera roll ahead of time
