Just in time for iOS 6, Apple’s Eddy Cue has also revealed some major changes to iTunes. iTunes for iOS has been given a major redesign, with large icons and a carousal at the top. Facebook likes will be integrated with every entry in the App Store, and you can preview songs while browsing. That’ll be introduced September 19 with iOS 6.
iTunes 11 was also announced, with a majorly overhauled “dramatically simpler” interface. It’s a grid of icons, and when you click on an artist or album, that entry expands. Artists can share photos with users, and you can easily jump over to the store to buy more music by the same artist.
iTunes 11 has also overhauled playlists for easier drag and drop, and a dropdown menu showing what’s coming next, so you can change if you don’t like the next song in the queue.
Search has been overhauled so show results inline, and the mini player has a new design, too. You can even manage playlists and search from it.
iCloud is now built in to iTunes 11, and movies that are in iCloud save your position in the film between devices.
iTunes 11 store is also redesigned, much like the iOS version.
The redesigned iTunes 11 will be available in October.
