iPod Touch 5th Generation Benchmarked And Revealed

Apple is notoriously cagey about what goes on under the hood with their iOS devices — and the newly shipped iPod Touch is no exception. Japanese blog Macotakara has already managed to get their hands on the 5th generation iPod Touch, and has put it through the paces, getting its system information and GeekBench score.

Unsurprisingly, the iPod Touch 5th generation is much less powerful than the iPhone 5, but is on par with the iPhone 4S — still certainly a respectable score. That makes sense because under the hood it seems to be near identical to the iPhone 4S, with an A5, dual-core, 800MHz GPU, and 512MB of RAM.

The battery capacity is a carryover from the iPod Touch 4th generation at 930 mAh, and it has a 5MP rear camera and 1.2MP front-facing version.
