Are you still calling Apple’s third generation iPad “the iPad 3”? You are not alone, but that’s not the official name according to Apple’s website. It’s the new iPad or when shopping for iPad accessories, it’s given the designation “iPad 3rd generation”. This was a break from numerics as part of their conventional product naming strategy, with the new one simply being the new one. It makes sense that Apple would follow this trend with the new iPhone, so why are all the Apple blogs calling it the iPhone 5? To date, we’ve seen the following iPhone models: iPhone iPhone […]
It’s been an eventful summer with respect to supposed part leaks for the upcoming 4-inch iPhone 5. There have been enough parts that some have even been able to assemble a semi-complete new iPhone, save for the important stuff like the entire internals – processor, battery, graphics, LTE perhaps. While we have yet to see the earth shattering Apple employee drops an iPhone in a bar and it ends up on Gizmodo leaks, most of us have a good idea of what we can expect from the sixth generation iPhone. As we move into the dog days of summer, there […]
It’s always been the way with iOS, older versions of the iPhone or iPad miss out on the hottest new features. The iPhone 3GS missed out on a lot of iOS 5, and now with iOS 6 around the corner, we want to know what the iPhone 4 isn’t going to be able to use. Way down the bottom of Apple’s iOS 6 page is the fine print that shows just which killer features will and won’t work with various models.
Fortune Magazine has published a list of what they deem the greatest entrepreneurs of our time. What had to be a difficult task given the advances in technology over the past twenty years, the editors produced a formidable list that finds Apple co-founder Steve Jobs at the top. Given the time period for which this list represents, there are a number of individuals from the technology sector represented including the founders of Microsoft. The magazine calls Jobs “the quintessential entrepreneur”. What’s most interesting about the list were the qualities that separated Jobs from the rest of the pack.
When AT&T first informed us that they would start deploying data speed throttling measures, the langauge in the press release appeared to target consumers that weren’t typical. The target were those rogue scoundrels who are streaming movies 24/7, those who take unlimited data entirely too literally. I get that unlimited doesn’t mean unlimited, although I’m sure I might get an argument from my grammar school teacher. That very carefully worded press release dropped in late July of last year continuously mentioned “the top 5 percent” as those who were in danger of throttling. This was pitched as helping out the […]
With just six more shopping days until Valentine’s Day, you might find yourself looking to gift something more interesting than a box of Whitman’s chocolates to that special someone. Nothing against a good sampler, but you could jazz things up a bit by including a case. At the end of the day, nothing says “I Love You” like an iPhone case. Here’s our roundup of the best Valentine’s iPhone cases for that special someone.
The iPhone 4S will be released on Friday, October 14th. It’s not the iPhone 5, which at this point is nothing more than a rainbow colored unicorn. There is only one new iOS device in town and that’s the iPhone 4S. Should you buy one? It depends, but here are 5 reasons why you should considering buying the iPhone 4S, despite it not being the mythical iPhone 5.
I have no idea what Apple will announce tomorrow. I do know that it will be an updated iPhone, that will likely be available in the coming few weeks, just in time for the holiday shopping season. It’s becoming more and more likely that rumors of teardrop designed hardware, complete with a new larger display were off base and what we’ve been calling the iPhone 5 will not announced tomorrow. It might not be coming until 2012. It seems like tomorrow will bring the announcement that the iPhone 4S is coming and not the iPhone 5. This new iPhone will […]
For as long as I can remember, there have been rumors of the mythical iPhone 5. We’ve been tracking them for quite some time. They often include potential iPhone 5 parts, cases and a healthy dose of analyst speculation. There have been plenty of unconfirmed rumors that Apple would announce more than one new iPhone, with speculation that we’d see both an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 5. Those rumors have certainly ramped up before the usual summer release schedule and previous to the now official October 4th iPhone event. Yet, days before the event, we’re all in the dark. […]
Earlier this week, the blogs were afire with a rumor that Apple would be producing two iPhones in 2011 — a full featured “iPhone 5” and a toned-down “iPhone 4S” available at a cut-price and on a prepay contract. While people are divided as to if this will actually happen (my money’s on no), it does raise a very interesting point: Apple needs a prepaid iPhone.
