iPhone Takes Top 3 Spots In Q4 2011

NPD Group has just released their numbers for the final quarter of last year, and not only was the iPhone 4S the highest selling model around, but the iPhone 4 came in second and the iPhone 3GS in third. That’s right, the top three spots were all iPhones, including a two year old model that you can get free on contract. The iPhone 4S outsold the iPhone 4 by 75%, and outsold the iPhone 3GS five-to-one.

Smartphones as a whole rose to 68% of the mobile phone market, which was made up of 43% iOS, 48% Android, and 9% other — though Android gained 9% when looking at first time buyers.
