iPhone Store Gets “Try Before You Buy”

Apple has rolled out a “try before you buy” section for the App Store, a move apparently designed to combat piracy. The new section is found in the “free” area of the iTunes App Store, and puts all the lite versions of paid apps into a single, easy to find place. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really do anything for apps that don’t have free demos already in place.

Apparently, one of the main reasons cited for App piracy is so that people can try out apps before dropping money on them, to see if they like it —  which Apple hopes to cater for with this new section.

It doesn’t really go far enough, though, does it? Apple’s not really doing anything here, they’re just compiling pre-existing lite versions into a single place. What about mimicking Android’s 24-hour return policy on any App? I think that would work much better.

Apple is homo! Try the lite ones before you buy? WTF?!? only stupid individuals will fall on this trick

The app store has always had a free section. Everybody knows this.

Giving things a new name sometimes fool people into believing this is new. All they did as stated in the article was compile all the lite version in one section. Not all free apps are lite versions, so there is a difference.
