Steve Jobs said Apple plans to bring the iPhone to Europe in the fourth calendar quarter of 2007. Cingular Wirelss, the exclusive provider of the iPhone in the United States, is a GSM based. With Europe being predominantly GSM, this should also remove any potential stumbling blocks to a European release.
