When looking for an iPhone Car Kit, there are a few options to consider before purchasing. There are a variety of iPhone car kits in a range of prices, each offering different features. If you currently use an iPod Car Kit, you are probably in luck. The iPhone uses the same data port connection as the iPod, so your existing car kit should work with the iPhone. Here are a few options when it comes to iPhone Car Kits.

iPhone Car Accessory Options

  • iPhone Cigarette Lighter Mount: This iPhone car kit allows you to mount the Apple iPhone using the cigarette lighter. The mount does not charge the iPhone, but instead uses a rigid, yet flexible mount that gets inserted into the cigarette lighter in your car.
  • iPhone Car Mount: Using a heavy-duty suction cup, this type of mount attaches to your windshield. Some models offer charging capabilities.
  • Integrated Bluetooth iPhone Car Kit: Probably the most expensive, but the most feature rich iPhone car kit. Parrot is one of the major brands that offers this type of kit and it requires professional installation. This will allow you to handle calls without ever touching your iPhone. The iPhone is equipped with Bluetooth version 2.0 and should work with existing Parrot or other integrated Bluetooth car kits. The iPhone can reside anywhere in your car or jacket pocket and allow you to use the car kit. This also requires an iPhone car charger.
  • iPhone Bluetooth Speakerphone: Probably the easiest way to add a speakerphone without complicated wiring is a dedicated Bluetooth speakerphone. Once paired with the iPhone, you can use the Bluetooth speakerphone to answer calls. There are a variety of models that allow you to mount on your visor or in a cup holder.
