Sooooooo close

Wow, we're going to look back on this initial MLB application and laugh in a couple of years. This is a really slick looking interface and the video highlights are absolutely awesome. The load quickly on 3G and I use them when out at the actual ballgame to see highlights!

The downside of this application is that it costs money and will cost money each year. Additionally, you can't see anything other than basic stats on a game (SportsTap or LiveScore does a better job.)

MLB clearly has a leg up because they have the video content to provide for thieir app and it would be worth the money if the experience was more like their GameDay application on their website. I'm sure that's their goal, but for $5.99, it's a waste of money unless you really want to see highlights in video. Otherwise, just check out SportsCenter.

Only For Hardcore Baseball Fans

This is the first app I paid for. I got it so I can see video highlights of my team, the St. Louis Cardinals. And being in Hawaii, they NEVER telecast their games here unless they're playing NY or Boston.

In the end, that's what this app is mainly for. There are only limited box score stats available. And no division standing either.

I had to get SportsTap (which is free) to get all of those features.

MLB is only for the hardcore fans who want to see baseball highlights on the go without going into Safari.
