CityTransit is a comprehensive guide to traveling through New York City. It includes subway maps licensed from NYC's MTA, line data, a GPS-based station finder and live service advisories. An expandable architecture will allow the future download of bus maps, commuter rail lines and more.

Living in the city, you either know it or you need help from an application to find the nearest subway around you. With GPS, it will track you and let you know what is the nearest subway station. Cool right...

Well, there are approximately 3 applications out there (at the time of me writing this) that are competitors with each other. This application, I would say rank 2nd. IF you bought this applications, it's good enough but if you really want a feature packed assistance with subways, then I would tell you to go visit itrans subway.

Lacking feature from this in comparison to the other is, maps actually render properly when zoomed in, shows step by step subway stations to take to get from one place to the other, offline mode (because you don't have reception underground), time tables to see what times the subway (is expected) to come.

I can't say that CityTransit is a complete bust but both are very good, although I prefer iTrans. Price for CityTransit is a lot less expensive so for the money, it's worth it.
