iPhone 5 Silicone Sleeves Hit AT&T In Person

Add another tick to the iPhone 5 redesign pile. MacRumors got pictures of an iPhone 5 case that was found in an AT&T store. Not online through some shady Chinese reseller, not a sketchy dude at a mall, but a legit AT&T store. Sure, it’s an utterly generic silicone sleeve, but that’s the tapered reconfiguration that many are pegging as the basis of the iPhone 5.

What’s so curious is that all the cases seem to suggest that the next iPhone will be the iPHone 5, but the parts and inventory leaks all point to an iPhone 4S — and current rumor pegs it as only one new camera gets announced next week.
I know I’m hoping for an iPhone 5, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

  1. I think it’s highly unlikely that AT&T will buy random cases from a manufacturer if they have no idea that it’ll be the right type, potentially wasting tens of thousands (or more) dollars. However I don’t think a case redesign means it’s necessarily a major step, they might not change anything inside, but it does say iPhone 5 on the case though, so I have no idea :)

  2. All these conflicting rumors are confusing. I feel like AT&T wouldn’t spend money on all these iphone 5 cases if they didn’t already know that they were getting the iphone 5. But then again, we don’t have solid proof that this picture was actually taken in an AT&T store. Also i wish this person took a picture of the volume switch. Can’t wait until Tuesday!
