Apple has always been quiet about specs on their mobile devices, but it hasn’t taken long for the key info to find its way out to the public. Anandtech has a series of results of putting the iPhone 4S through its paces using online speed tests, and what they’ve found is that its A5 processor is probably 800MHz, a bit below the 1GHz that the iPad 2 manages to use.
They peg the iPhone 4S as doing some pretty serious damage against Android’s speed records, but that Android will bounce back with Ice Cream Sandwich.
We’re also hearing that the iPhone 4S only has 512MB of RAM, even though many were hoping that this update would see Apple boost memory to 1GB.
