If you reserved an iPhone at your local Apple Store (which I did), you probably just received an email from Apple . Most notable, is that if you reserved the iPhone, you get to go into a special line to pick it up:
“When you come in to pick up your iPhone 4, you’ll be directed to a line for those with reservations. We’ll have Specialists ready to transfer your contacts, set up email, and help you get apps so your iPhone is just the way you like it. We look forward to seeing you at the store.”
The email also takes time to apologize for people who got quoted the wrong price:
“Some customers received a confirmation email showing an incorrect price. We apologize for any difficulties you may have encountered. If you’re currently an AT&T customer, you can confirm your pricing online. Review now“
Also, don’t forget to bring Government issued ID, a credit or debit card (I thought Apple now took cash?), and your Social Security number.
The full email is after the break:
When you come in to pick up your iPhone 4, you’ll be directed to a line for those with reservations. We’ll have Specialists ready to transfer your contacts, set up email, and help you get apps so your iPhone is just the way you like it. We look forward to seeing you at the store.Sincerely,

Yeah, they are kinda weird about taking cash on iDays. I guess because all the sales reps have those handheld credit card machines, it’s easier to swipe rather than having to be at an actual register. So credit cards and gift cards should be a go for the lines.
i don’t get home until 7pm from work, but i’m ecsatic to hear when i finally do, i will not have to wait in a ridiculous line to pick up my iphone!!
This better be true at the AT&T store, too. I just left there 2 minutes ago and while I was there, asked if I had to wait in line with everyone else since I pre-ordered. The lady said she didn’t know how they were going to do it (what a surprise, right?) Nothing like waiting until the last minute to figure everything out. I just suggested to her that either the pre-order people need to be at the FRONT of the line or there needs to be a separate line altogether. If I have to wait in line AGAIN after already waiting once to pre-order, I’m gonna be pissed. I spent over two hours in the AT&T store on pre-order day. Partly due to waiting my turn and also from the computers going down…
Unfortunately, I would not count on that at the AT&T store.
I haven’t gotten that email yet….:(
Got mine! Yay!
Got my confirmation.
Damn I’m as giddy as a schoolgirl and I don’t know why. Must be the subliminal messages again. Better break out the tin foil helmet
