9 to 5 Mac have continued their excellent analysis of the iPad’s SDK, and have managed to winnow their way into the network settings. Inside, they found that the iPad will be able to handle tethering via bluetooth or USB. Does this mean that the iPad can be tethered to your iPhone? If so, will AT&T let it see the light of day in the USA?
iPhone to iPad Tethering would doubtless significantly reduce the purchases of the 3G model of the iPad—users who already have an iPhone (and lets face it, that’s a lot of the Apple firstgen buyers) would probably just by the Wi-Fi model, and link their iPad to it.
9 to 5 Mac also found code indicating that Safari on the iPad (and possibly iPhone 3.2) will allow you to change who you search with. Right now it seems that you can change the setting to Yahoo or Wikipedia.

since it looks much like the tethering toggle for the iphone, it might just for using the 3G iPad as a modem for your laptop, which isn’t nearly as exciting.
also, the current iPhone already lets you choose between google & yahoo for search engines, so it’s not surprising that they might add more.
I love my iPad. I want to make a Samsung Rant my wifi connection. K ow of any way to tether iPad to any 3G phone like the Rant?.
