iPad Short Supplies And Price Cuts Mean iPad 2 Is On The Way?

A change in situation for a number of non-US iPad sellers has prompted rumors that the much discussed iPad 2 is on the way. In the UK, both T-Mobile and Orange have cut the price of their in-stock iPads, both offering the device for £99 on a 24-month contract — previously it was double that.

The Carphone Warehouse in the UK has sold out of all 3G iPads, as well as the 64GB WiFi model; European seller Ingram Micro has sold out of the 16GB and 64GB WiFi versions, as well as the 64GB 3G one, and their other versions are in short supply; and apparently Future Shop in Canada is facing a similar situation.

The iPad has always been in short supply, but this definitely has flavors of stock clearing out before a new announcement, and the iPad 2 is expected in the near future.
