In addition to laying down some sweet ska tracks, the good folks at iFixyouri and 9to5Mac have continued their partnership, and put together this video comparing the glass of the iPad 1 and iPad 2. The newer model has glass that’s 27% thinner but just as strong, which makes it remarkably more flexible than the originals — and in the video it survives a truly impressive amount of abuse at the hands of a 2×4.
I’m not sure how often you’ll bend your iPad like that in day to day use, but it’s a pretty dramatic demonstration of how tough it is.

I think you mean 27% thinner not thicker.
Gah, you’re right! Fixed, thanks.
Tech geeks don’t know wood.
The board using to apply pressure is a 1×4 not a 2×4
The boards on the table are 2x4s.
In the first test the glass is 1.5″ (2×4 on the flat) above the table not 1″
In the second test the glass is 3.5″ (2×4 on the edge) above the table not 2″
Guess wearing gloves never occurred to you eh?
I think this test is completely irrelevant. If your gonna bend your iPad enough to break the glass then you have more to worry about then your glass breaking. Why not do real world tests such as dropping the glass and comparing, or impact tests? That is what you have to worry about.
someone who might accidentally sit on their iPad might be interested in watching this lol
