iOS Alarm Bug Leaves Many Late For Work

Having just come home from a chaotic New Years weekend, I didn’t check my news feeds at all, and crashed hard last night, only to wake up this morning swearing at my iPhone when my 7AM alarm didn’t go off. It turns out that 2011 has brought an alarm clock bug to iOS 4.2.1, and any non-recurring alert won’t function. This is what Apple has to say on the matter:

We’re aware of an issue related to non repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2. Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3.

Funny, today’s January 3rd, and the alarm didn’t go off for me this morning. Anyone else have similar troubles for Monday?

My Fiance relies on my alarm to get up for work and she was quite upset when she woke up at the time she was supposed to be awake! Glad I didn’t have to work today…
