Instagram And Hipstamatic Join Forces

Hipstamatic Insta oysters 2 Instagram And Hipstamatic Join Forces

When Instagram was first released back in 2010, it was a direct competitor to Hipstamatic — which at that time was the king of the lomo roost. While Hipstamatic had purchasable faux lenses, films, and flashes, Instagram was free, and rapidly grew to overtake the older application.

Now Fast Company is reporting that the two apps have come to an accord, and will work together — to a degree. Hipstamatic users will be able to post their images directly to Instagram, and the photos will all be labelled “taken with Hipstamatic”. It’s hoped that this will cause Instagram to grow even further as a social network, and drive some attention to Hipstamatic, too.
