The editor at iLounge apparently was able to get a hands-on look at the next generation iPad at CES. It’s unclear as to where and who has such a device, nor why they would be showing it to a popular news site. He’s offered some insight on what we can expect from this next generation iPad, which will refer to as the iPad 3, although it could easily be an iPad 2S or iPad 2HD based on the changes.
As per previous reports, the iPad 3 will have a slightly larger body, which is barely noticeable. The camera on the back is noticeably larger, about the size of the iPhone 4S.
He wasn’t able to see the front, but claims that Apple will focus on the display on the next gen iPad. It’s also interesting to note that the iPad he saw didn’t appear to be manufactured recently.
This all sounds feasible. Then again, maybe he’s looking at an old prototype. Honestly, we don’t know. Thankfully, it’s not a long wait until March, which most prognosticators seem to think is when we’ll see some sort of official Apple announcement.
