Developer Jason Ting has released some information about the first day of iAds on his iPhone 4 app LED Light for iPhone 4 Free. Right now? He’s making freaking bank. For the first day, he pulled in $1,372 in revenue, at a rate of $147.55 per thousand impressions, hitting 9,300 impressions. That’s something like 10x the return of other advertising platforms, and has piqued a lot of interest.
However, since it’s such a new service, there’s a basic assumption that this high degree of interest from consumers is a novelty factor, and may decrease over time. That said, it would have to drop a hell of a lot for it to not still be wildly above any other advertising platform.
