How to turn off diagnostics, disable carrier iQ on iPhone

As noted earlier today, Carrier IQ is software that sends all types of personal data and can log every keystroke SMS and more. While there doesn’t appear to be an easy way to disable this on other platforms, this is not the case with iOS.

You can easily disable Carrier IQ by turning off Diagnostics and here’s how to do just that.

  • Open Settings > General
  • Select About >Diagostics & Usage
  • Select ‘Don’t Send’ or confirm that ‘Don’t Send’ is checked

This is a simple fix if you are concerned about your data being collected and sent.

    I haven’t updated to iOS 5.x yet so it appears this toggle can’t be changed in 4.x.x.
