How To Delete Photo Stream Photos

Reset Photo Stream in iCloud

Many people have asked if there is a way to delete Photo Stream photos. Often, they mean delete individual photos. At this time you cannot delete individual Photo Stream photos but you can delete all of them at once. Follow this short guide on how you can delete your Photo Stream photos.

Reset Photo Stream in iCloud

  1. Log into from a desktop browser. Mobile Safari on iOS devices will not work.
  2. In the upper right-hand corner of the browser window click on your name. This will open a pop-up box.
  3. In the popup box click “Advanced.”
  4. Click on “Reset Photo Stream.”
  5. This will remove all photos from Photo Stream so be sure if you want any saved to download them first.

This will not remove the Photo Stream libraries already on your iOS device(s). If you want to remove them too you will have to go into Settings, iCloud and turn of Photo Stream. This will remove all Photo Stream photos from the device. You can then turn Photo Stream back on.

If you want to remove only a “select few” Photo Stream photos you cannot do it directly. But you can save the ones you want, delete all Photo Stream photos as outlined above, then add only the ones you choose back to Photo Stream.

you can also go to settings under your iphone, photo stream, disable and enable it again. It will delete the photo stream in the cloud.

@Kunal Modi It won’t delete them on the other devices, and I believe, once you reconnect to wifi, they’re be back on your iPhone.

I deleted the photos I didn’t want in photo stream, reset photo stream on my mac, turned photo stream off and back on on my phone, now want the remaining photos back in photo stream. How do I do this?

@ Kunal Turning off Photo Stream on an iOS device does nothing to the photos in the cloud. You can only remove them from the cloud by following the instructions above.

@Joe You can do that in iPhoto on your mac. Select the photos you want on the cloud from your photo library, and click Share. Choose Photo Stream and they will be uploaded back to Photo Stream.
