Handwrite Lets You Google Search With Your Chicken Scratchings

The mobile version of Google’s search engine can now decipher your writing with your finger, in a new feature called Handwrite. You simply need to enable it on your mobile device (iOS5+), and then just hit the Handwrite icon from Google.com.  Evidently Google’s come far enough in their tech that they can identify what you’re writing from a touchpad fingerpainted interface, which is pretty neat — though I’m not entirely sold on how practical it is.

Here’s how you enable it:

Getting started is easy: go to Google.com in your mobile browser, tap on “Settings” at the bottom of the screen and enable “Handwrite.” Note that after you’ve saved the setting, you may need to refresh the homepage to see the feature.

On tablets, the Search settings are available as an option behind the gear icon.
