The next big thing on the Kickstarter radar is gTar, an iPhone powered fully digital guitar. Designed to be easy to learn on, the project has already passed its $100,000 goal within just days of the project starting. The guitar has digital sensors under the strings, which relays what you’re playing to your iPhone, which handles the heavy lifting.
Unsurprisingly for such an advanced axe, the entry price isn’t cheap. The Kickstarter has already run out of the $350 first backer editions, so you’ll need to plop down a cool $400 for the axe, and they’ll retail for $450 in the future.
It’ll be interesting to see if this program actually does help people learn, or is another guitar teaching game to fall by the wayside. In the meantime, the blog response has been widespread and positive).
What do you reckon, is that worth $400?
